Welcome to Goodrington School

**25/05/18 - OUR TELEPHONE LINE IS NOT WORKING TODAY SO PLEASE EMAIL INFO@GOODRINGTON.ORG IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT US.  BT HAVE BEEN INFORMED**

Goodrington is a small independent school with a warm friendly atmosphere that's been successful since 1935.  Our Pre-school, for 3 and 4 year olds, offers 15 funded hours per week and while we encourage the children to progress into the main school, there is no obligation to do so.

Our latest inspection took place on 21st and 22nd June 2017 and affirmed the high quality of education and care at Goodrington School.  The full report can be accessed by clicking on Inspection Reports to the right.

As Havering's "hidden gem",  we foster the talents of each pupil and will help your child to achieve their full potential by encouraging self-belief and self-expression, developing confidence and inspiring a thirst for knowledge. This is underpinned by the ongoing development of good manners, tolerance and respect for all reflected in fundamental British values (FBV).

Please click on the Facebook icon above and go to the video section to view our new introductory film and "Goodrington School in action".

The school is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential area of Hornchurch. We take pupils from 3 to 11 years of age and prepare them for entrance either to state secondary or to independent schools, in accordance with the wishes of parents and the ability of the child.  There are only four classes in the main school, each one small enough to ensure that every pupil receives individual attention tailored to their needs. Please see our Joining page for further details regarding admissions into our Pre-School and main school.

Our Head TeacherIn recent years, our Year 6 pupils have moved on to other independent schools such as Christ's Hospital School, New Hall and Brentwood School as well as local secondary and grammar schools.

We have a small team of skilled and dedicated staff.  Mrs Jackie Lawrence, a previous Head Teacher at another local independent school joined us in September 2014 as my Deputy Head.  Mrs Lawrence also teaches our Year 5 and 6 class and with her vast experience in secondary as well as primary education, she is perfectly placed to boost the learning of our pupils, particularly in respect of 11+ preparation.

We are conscious that education is a partnership between pupils, school and parents and are, therefore, pleased to welcome parents into school whenever they wish to discuss their child’s progress.

Why not come and see for yourself what our school has to offer?  You will be sure of a warm welcome. Please call the school office on the number below to arrange a visit.

We look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes,

Rosalind Ellenby, Head Teacher
